Origins of Life Chemistry Research

Ece is a freshman from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey, currently interning at UNSW through the Research Endeavour Practicum Programme.

With a deep passion for the origins of life and astrobiology, Ece is eager to engage in interdisciplinary studies that connect these areas.

Her primary mission in life is to gather new and meaningful ideas as the world turns, leaving behind a gift of thought for the moments when it continues to turn without her. Her interests span across science, literature, philosophy, classical music, and art—anything that sparks her curiosity and adds meaning to her life.

Ece is also known for her uncanny ability to enjoy a good cup of coffee at any hour of the day. When she’s not in the lab—and constantly asking a lot of questions—you might find her gazing at the sky and putting her thoughts to paper with poetic flair, reading a book under a secluded tree on campus, solving a Rubik’s cube while watching videos of Richard Feynman, or admiring a photo of her cat, Hermes.
